Updated: May 20, 2022

The amount of flavor these bring in every bite makes me wonder how can they be this easy? There's only 5 ingredients (with optional soy sauce), so these little bites may become your go to for party dishes! Not only can these make a flavorful appetizer but we feasted on them for dinner and it was magical.

Cream Cheese Wontons & Soy Sauce

makes 16 wontons

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 20 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Cuisine: American

Special Tools: None

Course: Appetizer

Ingredients:

  • 1 egg

  • 16 Wonton wrappers

  • 1 8oz cream cheese softened at room temp

  • 2 tablespoons green onion chopped

  • 2 tablespoons chives chopped

  • soy sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Prepare your egg wash by adding egg to a small bowl and a splash of water. Whisk and set aside.

  3. In a medium bowl, beat your cream cheese until fluffy. Add in your green onions and chives, beat until combined.

  4. Dollop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture into the middle of a wonton wrapper.

  5. Dip your finger in the egg wash and line the outer edge of the wrapper with the wash. Fold the wrapper into a triangle and press the edges together tightly. Repeat for all of your wontons until mixture is gone.

  6. Lay your wontons flat on your baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the edges are brown and the tops are golden. Cool for a few minutes and then enjoy with soy sauce.
