Baked ziti is an Italian Night staple. Paired with some garlic bread, the carbs fill you up and make your stomach a happy camper. I haven't been making enough food the last couple nights and Tyler was never full. Trust me when I say this will fill them up!
Easy Peasy Baked Ziti
Serves 6-8
Ingredients
12 oz ziti or other tube pasta of your choice 3/4 lb
2 lb ground beef
1 - 24oz jar pasta sauce
2 garlic cloves minced
2 eggs beaten
1 - 15oz container ricotta cheese
2 1/2 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350F and spray a 9x13 inch baking sheet with nonstick spray.
Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add your noodles. Boil until slightly undercooked.
In the meantime, brown your beef in a large skillet and break into super small pieces. Once completely browned, add in your 24oz pasta sauce and 2 garlic cloves. Take off the heat and set aside.
In a large bowl, add your 2 beaten eggs, 15oz ricotta cheese, 1 1/2 cup mozzarella, and 1/2 cup Parmesan. Mix together with your drained pasta.
In alternating layers, add 1/3 of your beef, 1/2 of your noodles, 1/3 beef, 1/2 noodles, and remaining beef.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 40-45 minutes or until bubbling and a center reads 160F.
Remove from oven and top with remaining mozzarella cheese. Replace in oven and bake for 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melty.
Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes before serving. Top with additional parmesan and serve with garlic bread!
